Town Centre Maps
These
are the fourth edition of the popular handy-size maps and the first new
issue for five years, reflecting new developments and changes to the
shopping streets of the towns, which are two of the biggest in
Derbyshire.
The informative guides encourage
people to shop locally, packed full of useful information, they also
attract people from further afield to visit the towns and spend money
there.
“Despite current difficulties in the
economy, these are both vibrant shopping centres with a lot to offer,
including well-established local stores and speciality shops as well as
national chains,” said Partnership chief executive Ian Viles.
“Shoppers
can often find all they want in these towns, and we want to people from
near and far to patronise them and boost the local economy.”
The
guides are produced on a not-for-profit basis, with any surplus
proceeds being spent in the borough locally to promote and revitalise
it.
Funding has been raised from businesses in the
area through sponsorship. One of the backers is Trent Barton buses who
have contributed by adding a new feature on the maps which shows bus
routes!
The guides also feature post codes of some
important places and car parks so that drivers will be able to use
their satellite navigation systems to find their way around.
