New Enterprise Allowance (NEA)
Erewash Partnership Ltd are a sub-contract delivery partner on the New Enterprise Allowance Programme. We deliver the programme in the Erewash and Amber Valley area of Derbyshire, reporting directly into the Lead Accountable Body PeoplePlus.
Participants need to be referred to the scheme through Job Centre Plus (JCP). Erewash Partnership Ltd cover the following job centres; Alfreton, Belper, Heanor, Ilkeston, and Long Eaton.
If you are on an eligible benefit; JSA, Universal Credit, ESA and Lone Parent Income Support, and have an idea for self-employment then your JCP adviser will generate a referral to the NEA programme on your behalf. They will book you in for a face to face initial assessment interview where we will explain to you the process of the NEA programme, and ask you to explain to us a little more about your business idea.
If you are able to demonstrate you have a viable business proposition with the potential for growth in the future, you will gain access to a business mentor who will provide guidance and support as you develop your business plan over a 7 week period.
In addition to this, you will be eligible to receive financial support which will consist of a weekly allowance worth £1,274 paid to you weekly by JCP over a 26 week period, you will receive £65 per week for the first 13 weeks, and £33 per week for a further 13 weeks.
If you require start-up capital to get your business off the ground, you may be eligible to access the NEA loan for up to £2,500 to help with your start-up costs.
