  • Are you a registered business or sole trader?
  • Have a visitor economy or retail base in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire? 
  • SMEs employing less than 250 employees.  
  • Have an annual turnover of less than £50m
  • Have an annual balance sheet of less than £43m
 
Introduction
We would like to invite you to our exciting workshop aimed specifically at the tourist industry, to promote ‘Destination Welcome’. We are also inviting you to become an ‘Ambassador’ for the Region; by becoming an ‘Ambassador’ you will not only benefit your own business, but that of the wider region. Encouraging more visitors to explore the Region which will benefit everyone by attracting more visitors and spending. Customer service is key to the success of any business, so getting it right is critical.
 
Background
The visitor economy is about more than just hotels and restaurants. It covers many different visitor attractions,  including theme parks, sports, leisure, retail, cultural, natural and heritage attractions and brings millions to the region every year. The Peak District and Sherwood Forest are one of the UK’s most important tourist world-class destinations. 
 
The D2N2 visitor economy is currently worth £3.47bn and supports 52,000 jobs. Good news r us, our families, our businesses and our communities.
 
Aim of the workshop
To provide participants with ‘Destination Awareness’ knowledge for the visitor economy across the D2 Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Peak District region (D2N2). 
 
Objectives
  • Describe the importance of the Visitor Economy to the D2N2 Region and how individuals and organisations can contribute to increase overall visitor spend.
  • Be confident as an ‘Ambassador’ of the D2N2 Region.
  • Be able to promote the D2N2 Region with pride, and in a knowledgably, positive, enthusiastic and professional manner to all visitors at all times.
  • Identify the essential attributes, skills and knowledge needed to welcome visitors the D2N2 Region and leave them with positive memorable experiences.

If you need valuable advice and insight to help your business flourish then this business surgery is for you. You will be given the opportunity to pose questions, get practical tips and obtain incisive information.
 
We will offer you a one-to-one 90-minute session, our Business Adviser will be available to give you the right advice for your business needs. 
 
Depending on your business needs, a follow-up business review can also be arranged, there will however, be a charge for this at £50 for 90 minutes. 
 
Running a successful business can be a challenge. With the right support and professional guidance your journey to drive your business forward and unlock challenges can be made easier.
