A HUGE mailshot is taking place across Erewash as the council keeps its voting register up to date – which means sending letters to all residents.
For more than three in four people living in the borough the letters will simply confirm their details – meaning recipients do not need to do anything unless changes need to be made.
But up to a quarter of people will receive a form which DOES need to be completed and returned as soon as possible. In these cases a response is required even if there are NO changes.
A freepost envelope is provided. Changes can also be made online using printed security codes. Visit elecreg.co.uk/erewash
If there are no changes residents can use the envelope, make a quick call to our freephone line: 0808 2841 585, or they can text: 07786 209385
Councillor Deputy Leader Becca Everett, who is also the Lead Member for Community Engagement, said:
“We have to check the Register of Electors every year and we would ask everyone who needs to take action to do so as soon as they receive their form – please don’t put it to one side and forget about it. When any election is held, residents only have a vote if they are on the register so it is vital that you respond.”
