Intellectual Property Short Courses

The support is funded by the European Social Fund therefore there is no cost to the businesses or participants that would like to enrol. The only criteria is that you are an SME business based in D2N2 area – the sessions can be for employees, directors and the self-employed.

All sessions will be delivered by Peter Vaughan the senior Lecturer who has a professional background IP law.

Introduction to Intellectual Property – 4th May (virtual), 10th May

  • The early steps to take and how to avoid common early pitfalls with IP implementation

Protecting your IP – 28th June

  • How best to protect IP especially for registered design, trademarks and patents
  • Practical steps to take as you look to protect your IP
  • How you can make use of your IP rights and make them work for you

Commercialisation of Intellectual Property – 7th Sep, 18th Oct

  • How to use your IP to open new revenue streams and create investment opportunities
  • Look at questions that often arise to do with conflict with IP
  • Steps to avoid or minimise IP conflict and infringement

The sessions are taking place at the City Campus in the morning from 9:30-12:30.
