More than 86,500 poll cards in total will be hand-delivered at the end of March to Erewash residents who are on the voting register.
Delivery of the poll cards is the first key stage in the countdown to Erewash Borough Council’s elections on 4 May, when voters will elect Erewash borough councillors and, in certain areas, parish councillors.
Erewash Borough Council’s ‘poll card team’ will hand-deliver the cards between 22 March and 3 April. The card gives electors their voter number and details of their polling station – or it will confirm details for those residents who have requested a postal vote.
The card also gives voters information regarding photographic ID which is required at these elections
Residents who still need to register to vote can do so easily and quickly online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote before the deadline of Monday 17 April.
Residents who wish to apply to vote by post have until 5pm on Tuesday 18 April.
