The digital Radio Link scheme was launched in both Ilkeston and Long Eaton town centres in 2014, and helps create a secure town centre for all
The scheme has proved very successful in linking retailers with CCTV operators, the Police, town centre wardens, and also the town’s market.
The link was established for the purpose of improving the quality of communication between members, to assist in the safety of persons and the security of property, mainly focusing on crime preventions as well as detection.
On joining the scheme, members are asked to sign an agreement and are then given full training on how to use the radios as well as a full list of rules.
There are currently around 35 businesses within the towns that are part of the scheme, and more businesses are welcome.
To support members, the Erewash Partnership holds regular meetings with members to discuss operation of the scheme, and to share information. If you would like information on how to join the scheme, please do not hesitate to contact us.
