Long Eaton United Football Club can ‘pitch’ for more funding to further develop its ground and ambitions – thanks to a new 25 year lease granted by Erewash Borough Council’s Executive on 7 June.
The renewed lease for its Grange Park ground means the club will be able to access funding provided by national sports funding organisations.
Long Eaton United is well established and runs junior and senior teams alongside an extremely successful academy providing degree level education. The club is investing heavily in its youth football and with the new lease now in place, it aims to win funding to take this forward and help the club to develop partnerships with education bodies.
Councillor Michael Powell, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration and Planning, says:
“This club offers so much to Long Eaton, the sports community, young people and its fans. So of course, we’re happy to show our support by renewing the lease – something which will help them obtain external funding. They have a wonderful ground and exciting ambitions for the future. This is good news for everyone involved.”
