Residents are encouraged to complete a short survey to help the council better understand people’s needs and to improve the Exercise by Referral scheme leading to better health outcomes for our residents.
The scheme is a 12-week programme for people with long-term health conditions that aims to help them better manage their condition via exercise. Eligible people that are referred by a healthcare professional are able to take part in the tailored programme.
Qualified Exercise by Referral Instructors are based at Rutland Sports Park in Ilkeston and West Park Leisure Centre in Long Eaton offering different methods of exercise including supervised gym sessions, swimming and exercise classes designed for a specific need and capability.
The Exercise by Referral short survey will be available online at erewash.gov.uk until Monday 13 February 2023. Councillor Paul Maginnis, Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing at Erewash Borough Council, says:
“The Exercise by Referral programme is a valuable scheme for Erewash residents with long-
term health conditions. The new survey will help us to develop the programme and ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of residents in Erewash and I would like to encourage people that suffer from a health condition to complete the short survey.”
