Whilst we continue to mourn the sad passing of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, plans continue for the Erewash Jobs and Community Fair, being held on Tuesday 27th September to support residents.
This year’s event is being held at the Chatsworth Arts Centre and Duchess Theatre, readily accessible by public transport from all parts of Erewash. Located in the heart of Long Eaton, as well as just a bus ride for most, Erewash Borough Council has also agreed to provide free parking in the nearby car parks.
With a wide range of local employers, support services and voluntary organisations now booked to attend from 10am to 4pm, there will be plenty of opportunity for local residents of all ages to find out what jobs are available, explore training and apprenticeship opportunities and other ways to improve their skills, as well as finding ways of supporting others.
Erewash MP, Maggie Throup who is organising the Jobs and Community Fair, said:
“Despite unemployment in this area being lower than the national average, there is a clear need for a central forum in Erewash where local businesses, charities and voluntary groups can exhibit the opportunities they have available for residents, which is why I am delighted to again be hosting the Erewash Jobs and Community Fair.
“This free event will promote local job vacancies, apprenticeships, and volunteering opportunities, as well as help people to access services that offer support on benefits and welfare, CV writing and interview techniques. Information on business support will also be available.
“I hope that as many people as possible will be able to join me at the Duchess Theatre to find out what opportunities there are for their future jobs and careers.”
There are still opportunities for businesses and voluntary organisations across Erewash to sign up to exhibit, further details can be found here: https://www.maggiethroup.com/erewash-jobs-community-fair-2022.
