Treetops Hospice has two places available in this year’s Great North Run on Sunday 10 September. The £10 places are one of the last opportunities to take part in the event, as all ballot places are gone.
The Great North Run is the UK’s biggest half marathon and is famous for its inclusive atmosphere. This year 60,000 runners will take part, from Olympic medallists to people running their first event. Many will run for charity.
Since 2021, eleven people have run this iconic event for the end-of-life charity. Together they raised almost £8,000 to help fund care for people with life-limiting illnesses in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
“Our runners have included staff from local businesses such as GF Tomlinson and Addo Foods”, Claire Mathias, Relationships Manager for Key Events said. “It would be fantastic to have local business involved this year too.”
As well as supporting Treetops, runners in this year’s event will have the unforgettable opportunity to celebrate the illustrious career of British athlete, Sir Mo Farah, who has announced the 2023 Great North Run will be his last ever professional race.
