The rainbow flag will be raised at both Ilkeston and Long Eaton Town Halls on Monday (20 June) as Erewash Borough Council shows its support for the LGBTQ+ community during Pride month.
The council is keen to show its full commitment to the LGBTQ+ community as well as all communities in the borough and the flags will fly until Friday evening..
Councillor Carol Hart, Leader of Erewash Borough Council, says:
“We absolutely support the LGBTQ+ community and whole-heartedly promote the values that the rainbow flag represents – tolerance, diversity, dignity, respect and, of course, pride. The symbol of the rainbow is a powerful one and it will be good to see it flying at our town halls.”
