Athletes of all abilities will be excited to learn that entries are now open for the Erewash Half Marathon and Erewash Triathlon 2022.
Both events are organised by Stu Web in partnership with Erewash Borough Council.
The Half Marathon will take place on Saturday 13 August with a start time of 8:30am. Runners will begin in Langley Mill and follow the Erewash Canal using the towpath and park trails to finish at West Park in Long Eaton. The route will be mile marked, marshalled and have drink stations at regular intervals. Upon completion much needed refreshments, showers and massages will be available.
The Triathlon takes place the following day on Sunday 14 August from 7am. The event starts with a 400m swim in the West Park Leisure Centre pool, followed by a 16km bike ride and finishing with a 5km run in West Park. This year also sees the return of an AquaBike event for those who prefer not to complete the run section and an Aquathlon event for those who prefer not to complete the bike section. All participants will receive an event medal and goody bag for their hard work, with the top 3 male and female athletes in their age group and overall receiving prizes.
Councillor Paul Maginnis, Lead member for Health and Wellbeing at Erewash Borough Council, says:
βThe triathlon and half marathon are fantastic events for people of all ages and abilities. It is so inspiring to see entrants train hard and achieve new personal best performances out in our beautiful borough. Good luck to all those participating!β
